Let’s meet the makers behind the brand… John and Dawn are the founders of their beautiful candle business, First Light, based in the Leicester area. Their range of candles not only vegan, but blended using sustainable and ethical suppliers for their soy wax, to help do their part in protecting the planet we live on.

John and Dawn decided to add a Great British Pop-Up Shop to their festive activities and showcased their product range in John Lewis in their hometown of Leicester in early November. Here’s what they had to say about their pop-up experience…

WHY DID YOU CHOSE TO HOST An ind!e POP-UP?

“Showcasing our brand in this prestigious store in our hometown seemed like the perfect way to help raise our profile and local brand awareness”

HOW DID YOU FIND THE SUPPORT DURING THE POP-UP EVENT?

“The support in-store was brilliant, we could not fault it. Etta from John Lewis was super helpful and supportive throughout our event, as well as their home design team giving us fantastic social media support. Having the regular shout outs in-store helped direct people to our pop-up which was very useful “

CAN YOU GIVE A LITTLE PIECE OF ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING OF HOSTING A POP-UP?

“Make sure you have plenty of stock at the ready! We sold out of a particular candle in the first few days, we were able to remake some more and keep up with the demand!”
